Polystyrene bead is used in the building industry and D.I.Y. for wall cavity thermal insulation.
Polystyrene bead can also, when appropriate, be mixed with concrete to increase its thermal quality and reduce its weight.

Polystyrene bead is supplied as standard in 0.283 cubic metre (10 cubic feet) bags with a bead size 2-8 mm diameter and a weight of 10kg per metre cubed.
Alternative bead sizes may be produced subject to volume requirements.
