Polyvinyl chloride, commonly known as PVC, is the third-most widely manufactured plastic compound, after polyethylene and polypropylene. PVC compounds are manufactured for use in wide variety of applications. PVC resin is blended with various additives to provide superior cost and performance. Heat stabilizers, UV stabilizers, lubricants, plasticizers, processing aids, impact modifiers, thermal modifiers, fillers, flame retardants, biocides, blowing agents, smoke suppressors, and color pigments can all be used to meet stringent performance requirements and specifications.
