The detector relies on the property of halogenated gases to reduce the current produced in a corona discharge at the sensor. The current change is detected and presented as an increase in frequency of an audible alarm. The higher the frequency, the greater the concentration of halogen detected.The unit is supplied complete with its own battery supply and requires no other electrical or gas services. Also supplied with the equipment is a check leak which will test the sensitivity ofthe equipment in service. The instrument is ready for use immediately it is switched on and will not be adversely affected by large concentrations of halogenated gases in the atmosphere.
