Portable Resistive Load Bank

The Portable Resistive Load Bank is designed for electrical load testing and verification, operating at a voltage rating of 230V, 400V, or 415V AC in single-phase or three-phase configurations. It supports power capacities typically ranging from 5 kW up to 500 kW, with adjustable load steps in defined increments such as 1 kW or 5 kW. The frequency of operation is 50 Hz or 60 Hz, depending on application requirements. The load applied is purely resistive (ohmic), converting electrical energy into heat using stainless steel or nichrome resistor elements. Cooling is achieved through high-performance axial fans to maintain safe operational temperatures, with resistor temperature rise reaching approximately 250°C to 400°C. The enclosure is made of powder-coated steel or aluminum and rated between IP21 and IP55 for protection against environmental exposure. It is designed for portability, often mounted on heavy-duty wheels or equipped with lifting handles for field use. Safety features include thermal protection, airflow loss sensors, overcurrent trip, circuit breakers, and emergency stop controls. The unit is operated via a manual or digital control panel with real-time voltage, current, and power metering. Suitable for generator, UPS, and electrical system testing, it is a compact and rugged solution for on-site commissioning, maintenance, and performance evaluation tasks.
