• Character- It iscolorless or white crystalline powder. It has bitter taste. Relative density is 2.662. Melting point is 1069„ƒ. Easily soluble in water, insoluble in ethanol and acetone, pH is 5.5-8.5 in 5% aqueous solution.
• Usage- It is used as seasoning and salt substitute.used as cleaning agent in glass industry. Used as bulk laxatives in medical industry.
