Povidone Iodine Solution IP 10%

Composition: Povidone-Iodine I.P. 10% w/v (1% w/v available Iodine) with thixotopic base thick solution used as paint, Purified water I.P. q.s. 

Povidone-iodine is a powerful antiseptic and disinfectant, In contact with skin and mucous membranes of the povidone-iodine complex gradually releases the active iodine, which works quickly and has a microbicidal effect (causing the death of a broad spectrum of bacteria, fungi, viruses and protozoa). 10 % solution is applied to the skin for Preoperative and post-operative skin antisepsis 

Application Procedure: Apply undiluted as paint or wet dressing as often as required for all areas of human and veterinary medicine, Pre-surgical skin preparation, Post-surgery wound protection, Skin disinfection prior to any invasive procedure Rinsing and protection of wounds. burns, incisions and ulcers FirstAid and Emergency - Suitable for use with bandaging 

Area of application :

• It can be used in Food Industrial, Domestic and Institutional areas, Hospitals, Community Medical facilities and in dental institutions.
• Preoperative antiseptic preparation of the lining of the vagina
• Antiseptic preparation of the skin and mucous membranes of injections, aspiration needle biopsy
• Maintaining oral hygiene before, during and after dental or oral surgery 
• Disinfect skin (prevention of bacterial, viral and fungal infections, and protozoal infections) 
• Antiseptic treatment of wounds (lacerations. abrasions. and static decubital infected ulcers. pyodermia, secondarily infected dermatoses, burns of second and third degree) 
• Antiseptic treatment of acute infection of the lining of the mouth and pharynx (gingivitis, stomatitis. mouth ulcers, oral candidiasis, oral ulcers, superficial abscesses, abscesses herpetic)

Do not use Povidone-Iodine:

• If you are hypersensitive (allergic) to iodine
• If you have a dysfunction of the thyroid gland (eg nodular colloid goitre, endemic goitre and thyroiditis lymphocitic)
• If you have renal failure (renal failure) and / or hepatic (liver failure)
• The infant body weight below 1500gm.
