The Power Management System controls power generation and power distribution onboard the ship, to secure enough available power for propulsion and manoeuvring. A complete Wärtsilä solution, including PMS, ensures an optimal tuned system that will reduce the risk of bad performance and blackouts.
PMS from Wärtsilä contains all standard functions like load dependant startstop, load sharing, synchronising, load shedding etc. The system has several advanced options that will reduce distribution losses, increase the energy availability and save space and installation costs. For use in the offshore market, Wärtsilä PMS has passed stringent tests like Hardware-in-loop (HIL) tests from third party verification companies.
Wärtsilä PMS is fully integrated in WIAS.
