Contact SupplierPOY (Partially Oriented Yarn) is a primary form of synthetic filament yarn, predominantly polyester, produced by spinning molten polymer at high speeds. It is characterized by its semi-oriented molecular structure, which provides a balance of strength and significant elasticity, making it the essential precursor for producing textured yarns like DTY.Â
Key Characteristics
Elasticity & Elongation: POY has high elongation (typically 80–120%), allowing it to be further stretched and twisted during texturizing.
Tenacity: It possesses moderate tensile strength (2.5–3.5 g/denier), which is lower than fully drawn variants but sufficient for downstream processing.
Lusters & Finishes: Available in various finishes, including Semi-Dull (SD), Bright (BR), and Full-Dull (FD).
Dyeability: Known for excellent dye penetration and color consistency, often available in Raw White or Dope Dyed (pre-colored) formats.
