Varieties Available

• PSF HM Lemon 1 Shellac : This transparent Shellac has thicker flakes in a brownish tone
• PSF HM Lemon 2 Shellac : The brownish-yellow tone thick flake is suitable for used in general purpose of varnishes.
• PSF HM Orange Shellac : This Cinnamon Orange tone is thick and suitable for use in Shellac finishes on Mahogany, Cherry, etc
• PSF HM STD.1 Shellac : The light Yellow tone colored thick flake is a general purpose Shellac.
• PSF HM Light Pure Button Lac : This Shellac is suitable as French polishing because of the hardness as well as restoring purpose with an extremely protective finish.
• PSF HM Kusmi Button Lac : This light Orange colored Shellac is a pure form of Shellac, which is suitable for Varnish with a glossy look and polishing purposes

Process
Shellac is manufactured either by traditional Hand made process or comparatively modern machine made process. Hand made shellac is produced by blending Seedlac into long narrow cloth bag and then one end of the bag is heated over charcoal fire and the other end is attached to a windless and which is twisted slowly continuously. The heat produced by the charcoal fire melts the seedlac stuffed inside the cloth bag and is forced out through the cloth by pressure. The molten lac is scraped out and drawn into sheets or button manually and left to dry. This process requires considerable manual skill and long experience. The traditional Hand made Shellac grades are Lemon No.1, Lemon No.2, Standard One,etc and Hand Made Button grades include Kusmi Button Lac, Light Pure Button Lac etc. Hand made shellac is mostly exported to U.S.A. , Germany , Japan etc. The impurity varies from 0.75% to 1.5%.
