Fish and fishery resources in the gulf of mannar is our unique strength. The gulf of mannar is a large shallow bay forming part of the laccadive sea in the indian ocean which includes mannar island, separates the gulf of mannar from palk bay. It's well clear proved that south indian fishes especially from ramanathapuram district to the sea shore belt of 271 kms towards north and south,are tastiest than any other part of the world.
