MECHANISM OF ACTION:

Prazosin is a competitive Alpha-1 adrenergic receptor blocker. It works by blocking Alpha-1 receptors present on the muscle cells of the blood vessels,thereby causing vasodilation (widening of the blood vessels), and consequently decreasing the resistance of blood flow, which ultimately lowers down the Blood pressure.
