A pressure blasting machine, also known as a hydro blasting machine, can be used for a variety of applications, including: Removing paint Cleaning ship hulls Demolishing concrete Preparing marine surfaces Cleaning investment castings Removing deposits from pipes Removing rust Descaling steel Pressure blasting machines work by blowing fine sand at high pressure using compressed air that passes through a nozzle at high velocity. For optimal performance, the industry recommends a pressure of 7 bar (102 psi) at the nozzle. Lower pressures can reduce blast efficiency because the abrasive speed decreases. Pressure blasting systems also require a minimum of 25 psig to operate and use more air than suction systems to maintain pressure.
