The basic function of the Variable Frequency Drive is to control the pump in three different ways including:

• Control to match a system curve
• Control for constant flow The VFD functions in the following manner:
• Measures the system pressure by a transducer mounted on pump discharge
• Calculates motor sped to maintain correct pressure
