Promaseal® sealants
promaseal® sealants are acrylic intumescent or silicone based materials of putty consistency with excellent adhesive and fire resistance properties. Promaseal® sealants are designed to prevent the spread of fire and smoke through joints and gaps in fire rated walls and floors and around service penetrations. When exposed to the heat of a fire, promaseal® acrylic sealant expands forming an insulating char thus preventing the passage of fire and smoke. Promaseal® silicone sealant possessed inherent fire resisting and adhesive properties and will prevent the passage of fire and smoke in a fire situation. There are many types of sealants in promat. The choice of which will be determined by the configuration and the requirement for the degree of movement between substrates.

Promaseal® acrylic sealant is suitable for sealing linear gaps in walls and floors and for sealing around services such as steel and copper pipes where these penetrate a fire rated walls and floors. It is also suitable for providing a ‘bedding’ for surface mounted fire seals such as fire collars and fire intumescent strip where these are fixed on uneven surfaces. Promaseal® acrylic sealant is suitable for most substrate surfaces including promatect® board, concrete, brickwork and block work, steel, wood, plasterboard, glass, upvc and most non-porous surfaces.
