A prostatic stent is a medical device used in urology to relieve symptoms associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), also known as prostate enlargement. Prostatic stents are designed to be placed within the prostatic urethra, the part of the urethra that passes through the prostate gland. They act by mechanically holding open the prostatic urethra, thereby improving urine flow and reducing urinary symptoms caused by prostate enlargement.
