Purple tea variant is an inter-specific hybrid between a tea plant (Camellia sinensis) and a close cousin of tea that is rich in anthocyanin. The development of the purple tea was a result of the collaborative efforts of scientists from all over the world and its quality is a reflection of their determination to create a specialty tea with health benefits. Purple tea is unique of its kind and can only be sourced from the fertile volcanic soils in Kenya.

Additional Information : The percentage content of polyphenols in dry leaves of purple tea 16.5%, is the highest amongst all the types of teas in the world and also has lower caffeine content than black or green tea. It has sweet and woodsy notes with a strong flavor.
