Botanical Name of Puthkanda(Apmarg):- Achyranthes Aspera

Puthkanda is an herbal Ayurvedic plant that belongs from Amaranthaceae family. It grows in pacific islands environment. It is a powerful Ayurvadic medicine and used to treat surgical procedures. It can be found in the form of powder. A medicine is made by using Puthkanda called Kshara. It is a famous plant due to its leaves. Its leaves are used in Ganesh Patra Pooja on Ganesh Chaturthi.
