Cuming Microwave has a broad range of experience designing and manufacturing microwave lenses. With careful control of shape and dielectric constant, one can create lenses to refract microwave energy to a focal point. Our application engineers can help with selecting the proper material, both for microwave design as well as mechanical characteristics.
One unique application for these lenses is a metal backed dielectric lens which can focus and reflect the incoming signal over a very wide incident solid angle. This device can act as a passive radar beacon, reflecting a signal almost as large as the incident energy, over a 60-70 degree solid angle.
