Square and rectangular opening forms two major welded steel bar panels types. Rectangular steel welded mesh is manufactured from spiral ribbed bars welded together with different spacing in each direction to form rectangular apertures. This welded mesh panel is one kind of light type reinforcing wires applied for concrete elements including floor slabs and walls. Compared with square opening welded wires, the rectangular mesh offers more strength in one direction than the other.

Reinforcing rectangular mesh is produced in standard 6m×2.4m size sheets, and 4.80m×2.4m, 3.6m×2m, 2m×4m.
