Red Papaya

It is believed that Christopher Columbus called the Red Papaya the `Fruit of Angels.’ It is not known if he said this because of its luscious color and sweetness, or the nutritive values it offered. Loaded with nutrients, the fruit is believed to protect against cancer, help in digestive problems, and also the sweet fruit that diabetics can have. Further, Papayas also contain high fiber potassium, iron, calcium, plus the daily requirement of vitamin A and three days worth of vitamin C.
