(1)for industry grade the glycerin is important material to make alkyd, polyurethane, cellophane and detonator.
(2), it can improve the osmotic pressure of blood plasma, so it was used as dehydrating agent. When used externally, it is hygroscopic and moisture retaining, can intenerate part of fat layer.
(3), widely used as additive, was applied in fields of cosmetics, food emulsifier, drug, lubricant, plastics, printing and dyeing, press, paper making, leather, dope, pesticide, mechanical processing and etc. While used in industry, it is usually being hygroscopic agent, antifreeze, solvent and assistant agent.
