Each packet contains 3 grams of sodium phenylbutyrate and 1 gram of taurursodiol. The typical starting dose is 1 packet mixed with 8 oz (or 1 cup) of water once daily for 3 weeks. The mixture is taken by mouth or through a feeding tube.Relyvrio (sodium phenylbutyrate and taurursodiol) is an oral treatment approved in the U.S. and Canada to help slow disease progression in adults with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).Patients treated with RELYVRIO experienced a slower rate of decline on a clinical assessment of daily functioning compared to patients receiving a placebo. Additionally, it was observed that some patients who originally received RELYVRIO lived longer when compared to those who originally received placebo.
