The edge of the Renaissance Rapier Fencing Sword is dulled but the point is very sharp. A ridge runs down the length of the blade of the Renaissance Rapier Fencing Sword with a short ricasso at the base of the sword. The scabbard of the sword is wooden with dull black finish. The drag and scabbard throat are both polished steel. The guard of the Renaissance Rapier Fencing Sword is intricately built in a swept hilt design with a double concentric ring guard and a square fore-guard. The quillons are a straight cross bar design with the knuckle bow attached just bellow it. The knuckle bow is attached with two additional guards and ends with a ball tip.
