How it works

An electromagnetic coil is placed against the scalp to create a magnetic field that stimulates nerve cells in the brain. The magnetic field is similar in strength to an MRI scanner.

How it's performed

During an rTMS session, you sit in a reclining chair, wear earplugs, and the coil is positioned against your head. The treatment lasts about 30 to 40 minutes.
