Contact SupplierThe metallic ring joint gaskets are manufactured according to the API 6A and ASME B 16.20 standards for application at elevated temperatures and pressures. Ring joint gaskets come in two basic types, an oval cross section and an octagonal cross section. These basic shapes are used in pressures up to 10,000 psi. The dimensions are standardized and require specially grooved ranges. Ring type Joint Gaskets are designed to seal by "initial line contact" or wedging action between the mating flange and the gasket. By applying pressure on the seal interface through bolt force, the softer metal of the gasket flows into the imperfections of the harder flange material, creating a very tight and efficient seal.
Stock materials include soft iron, low carbon steel, 4-6 chrome (F5), 304, 304L, 316, 316L, 347, Monel, Inconel ,Incoloy,Duplex, Super Duplex etc.
Special Ring Type Joint Gasket
These are for critical and non standard applications, where ring type joints are unsuitable in their standard form. KGF offers a range ofspecialized ring type joint gaskets to suit the needs of the petrochemical industry.
BX and RX Ring Gaskets
The BX ring gasket differs from the standard oval or octagonal shape in a way that it is square in cross section and tapered in each corner. BX can only be used in API 6BX ranges. RX ring gaskets are similar in shape to the standard octagonal ring joint gasket but their cross section is designed to take advantage of the contained fluid pressure in effecting a seal. They are both made to API 6A specifications.
STANDARD RING JOINTS
Style R (Oval Octagonal )
The contact face is in oval shape. It provides a high reliability seal. These gaskets are manufactured in accordance to API 6A of ASME B16.20 to suit API613 and ASME/ANSI B16.5 Flanges. Fits the round and flat bottom ring groove flange.
Style R (Octagonal)
More accurate in dimensions and surface finish than oval type because it consists of straight surfaces only.
