Silicon Steel Ring Type Low Tension Current Transformer

Ring Type LT Current Transformers are typically manufactured with epoxy resin or ABS insulated housing for electrical safety and durability. They are designed for primary current ratings ranging from 5A to 3000A, with standard secondary output of 5A or 1A, depending on the application. The ring-shaped core is made of grain-oriented silicon steel or ferrite, providing excellent magnetic performance and low saturation at high currents. Accuracy classes are available from Class 0.5 to Class 3.0, suitable for both protection and metering, in compliance with IS 2705 / IEC 61869-2 standards. The burden rating ranges from 2.5 VA to 30 VA, and they can be supplied with integral terminal covers, mounting clamps, and sealing provisions. These CTs are suitable for use in LT switchgear panels, energy meters, control systems, and generator output monitoring, offering long service life, thermal stability, and minimal ratio error under dynamic load conditions.
