Self Forming Threads

hread forming (spin drive) fittings, have special tapered drive threads for fast production line installation in untapped hole, saving the tapping cost. A leakproof permanent seal is formed because the installation force causes the material of the untapped hole to reshape conforming to the fittings contour. Use in heat-treated parts is not recommended. Thread forming fittings can be replaced by any standard threaded fitting or by another thread-forming fitting.
Maximum Pressure is 8,000 PSI. All zinc dichromate fittings minimum 72 hours to red rust. All zinc fittings case hardened to Vickers HV1 or 83 min Rockwell 15N. All stainless steel fittings are type 303 stainless.
