Shea butter is a slightly yellowish or ivory coloured natural fat extracted from the seed of the african shea tree by crushing and boiling. Specifications: grade 1: moisture content (0 - 0.05), free fatty acid (0-1), peroxide value (0-10), insoluble (0-0.09) grade 2: grade 1: moisture content ( 0.05-0.2), free fatty acid (1.0-3.0), peroxide value (10.0-15.0), insoluble (0.09-02) grade 3: grade 1: moisture content (0.2-2.0), free fatty acid (3.0-8.0), peroxide value (15.0-50.0), insoluble (02-20).
