Shell Moulding or shell-mold casting, is an expendable mold casting process that uses a resin-covered sand mixture, applied to a heated metal pattern, to create a thin, rigid, and highly accurate mold. This process allows for excellent surface finish, high dimensional tolerance and is ideal for complex, small-to-medium-sized parts, such as engine components.
