When passing media are extremely critical and should not be taking any chance of leakages then this universally expected design are used. Because of body side area are very closed to flange, bolting problem can be eliminate by choosing higher size PCD which can be get in BS 10 table ‘F’. That’s why mostly single piece design ball valves are made with flange standard BS 10 table ‘F’.
