Be amazed by the marine life of the Andamans when you indulge in snorkelling at Havelock.

As per the regulations in the Andamans, divers over 50 must get a medical clearance for scuba diving.

    Snorkeling at Havelock

The crystal-clear waters of Andaman Sea present amazing snorkelling opportunities. Snorkelling with flotation aid is conducted by professional divers. An instructor teaches you how to use a snorkel and the flippers, and also snorkels along with you to point out interesting marine life. The snorkelling sites in Havelock are typically closer to the shore, however some of them can be accessed by boat only.

    Duration: 30min-1 hours (including transfers)

What is the difference between snorkelling and scuba diving?

Snorkelling and scuba diving both allow you to view the underwater world while being in the water. When snorkelling, you remain at the surface of the sea wearing a mask, snorkel, life jacket and fins that help you see, breathe, float and propel respectively. You breathe air directly from the atmosphere through a snorkel, which is essentially a small, curved tube held in your mouth.

When scuba diving, you swim underwater for a closer encounter with the marine life. You breathe air compressed and filled inside a scuba tank that you carry on your back – don’t worry, you don’t feel the weight of the tank in the water. Non-swimmers can also scuba dive with an Instructor after basic training.
