It is a high-molecular-weight straight-chain mucopolysaccharide composed of disaccharide units composed of glucuronic acid and acetylhexosamine, with a molecular weight of 1 million. It forms a viscous and elastic solution in water with physiological pH and ionic strength. Its molecular form is variable, so it can also be passed through with a thinner injection needle. The substance that does not cause inflammation is extracted from sodium hyaluronate and is called Healon. When 10 mg of this product is dissolved in 1 ml of normal saline, its viscosity can be 200,000 times higher than that of aqueous humor or normal saline.
