Mettalic/non Mettalic Sodium Hypochlorite Generators

HYPO PLANT CAN BE DIVIDED INTO FOLLOWING SECTIONS: -

Ø  Chlorine System.

Ø  Caustic Dilution and Over Head Tank.

Ø  Ist Stage Absorption System.

ØIInd stage Absorption System.

          Chlorine System:

Chlorine gas from your chlore alkali plant shall be supplied as well as any leaked chlorine is sucked to Hypo Plant through a Suction Blower.  Although this Blower Handles only unabsorbed air and water vapors. We take special care about choosing the MOC of blower.   It is made out of FRV material.

          Caustic Dilution and Over Head Tank:

32% Caustic from the Caustic tank/Plant is transferred to Caustic Dilution Tank  and 18-20% Concentration Solution is prepared by adding water. Dilution of Caustic is an Exothermic Reaction and generated heat is removed by circulation of caustic solution to PHE cooled by cooling water.

          Ist Stage Absorption System:

Ist Stage absorption system shall consist of two Caustic Circulation tanks, circulation pump, chilled water PHE and one packed column Absorber.  Ist Absorber will face concentrated chlorine and maximum chlorine will get absorbed in this absorber.  Diluted caustic is circulated in the absorber from caustic circulation tank and pumped for absorption of chlorine fro passing through chilled water heat exchanger to remove the heat of reaction.  When the Batch is ready the same is transferred to Hypo Stage Tank and fresh Diluted Caustic is taken from polishing tower/IInd absorber tanks. Over all reaction in the hypo plant can be summarized as below:

2NaOH+Cl₂         NaOCl+NaCl+H₂O

Normally to get a stable product, 10-20 GPL of Excess Alkali is maintained in the product and before transferring it is ensured that available chlorine is 145 gpl and excess OH is 10-20 gpl.

       IInd Stage Absorption System:

As some chlorine will escape from Ist Absorber.  IInd stage absorption system is installed to absorb the remaining chlorine from waste air.

This system also consists of one packed absorber with one circulation tank, circulation pumps and plate heat exchanger.  Dilute caustic will be circulated.
