The standalone solar photovoltaic street lighting system comprises of a Solar PV module for battery charging, rechargeable lead acid battery for storage, Compact Fluorescent Lamp (CFL) or Light Emitting Diodes (LED’s) as light source, suitable electronic control circuits for the operation of the lamp and safe guard to the battery charging & discharging and hard-ware like pole, battery box etc. for fixing of these sub systems.
