Soybean seeds are used for cooking a variety of foods (milk, cheese, butter, canned goods, etc.) and confectionery. Refined soybean oil is used directly in foods, used to obtain mayonnaise and margarine, used as the vegetable shortening and in the form of pharmaceutical preparations. Soy flour is used for a variety of feed, baby food, confectionery, dietary food, soy sauce and textured vegetable protein that looks and tastes like meat. Soy sprouts are also used in the foodstuff.
