About QuartzQuartz is a mineral in by nature. The scale of MOH (hardness measurement) is 7.0. On the scale, granite is scored 6. Quartz (as a mineral) occurs in clusters, but you can not make huge blocks of stone like a rock. This makes it unacceptable for use in countertops or other broad slab applications in its natural form.
