Standard Sprocket

A sprocket is a profiled wheel with teeth that meshes with a chain, track or other perforated or indented material. It is distinguished from a gear in that sprockets are never meshed together directly, and from a pulley by not usually having a flange at each side. In Transmission of power sprockets are equally important as Roller chain. It’s the media through which the chain can transmit the power. Standard sprockets with a hub on one side are suitable for simplex, duplex and triplex Roller chains. Additionally, we can offer our customers a wide range of stainless steel sprockets for roller chains. Sprockets for accumulator chains are used in conveying systems. As to their geometry they are perfectly matched to the characteristics of the chains. Both components are optimally linked and thus allow for an efficient and permanent operation of the plant.

Common Sprockets are being defined by no. of teeth, Diameter, center distance etc. For optimum wear life, centre distance between two sprockets should normally be within the range 30 to 50 times the chain pitch. The minimum centre distance is sometimes governed by the amount of chain lap on the driver sprocket.
