Steam Straps

Steam straps are automatic valves, which drain condensate from steam lines. They do not allow condensate to linger in the steam line, which can cause damage to further equipments. They do not leak the energy i.e. steam. Drained condensate has energy in it, so can be reused for other process, so saving energy losses.

Steam straps are essential in varius industries such as huge refineries, chemical complexes, steel mills, paper mills, textiles plants food processing unit, hospitals & so many others wherever steam is utilized. There are types of steam traps. One of them is Thermodynamic Steam Trap. It has only one moving part, the Disc. They are actuated by principle of Thermodynamic & Fluid Mechanics.

Kinetic energy from the steam & heat energy from the condensate is employed to open & close valve disc. Mostly advantageous for light condensate loads.
