This unique triangular shaped frying pan is made from black stone found in the foothills of Manipur and in particular a hamlet called Longpi. It is handcrafted without using the potter’s wheel and when the frying pan is heated over the gas oven, the heat remains localized in the frying region without travelling to the handle. It is eco friendly, elegant and displays utility cooking. Its use dates back to those ancient times when black stone utensils and cookware were used by rich and royal families in India during religious ceremonies and festivities.
