Contact SupplierWe are offering tanzanite gemstone (hardness of 6.50). The mineral name of tanzanite is blue zoisite but as it is found at only one place on the planet, the merelani hills of tanzania, so it is widely known as tanzanite. Tanzanite is available in a variety of shapes and sizes and colors that vary in the shades of blue. Rarely pure blue tanzanite generally displays an overtone of purple. In smaller sizes, tanzanite tends toward lighter shades of lavender and periwinkle while in sizes above 10 carats tanzanite show deeper, richer intense blue color.
Tanzanite is trichroic: that is, it shows different colors when viewed from different directions. The color can vary from blue to purple to bronze hence producing a myriad of colors. From different directions the stone may seem blue, purple, or bronze, adding subtle depths to the color. In unpolished state bronze color dominates but with polishing the stone changes to blue.
Tanzanite stones with a color that is more blue than purple tend to be more expensive. Tanzanite jewelry is a little more delicate than other gemstone jewelry and should be handled with care. They are available in mm sizes and far sizes in shape of round, oval, pear, heart, marquies, trillion, square, octogun, cushion, cut stones, checker boards, buff tops, cabs and beads etc.
