Tearing Strength Tester are highly accurate, falling pendulum type tear testing machine that comprises of an analog display which is used to determine the average force which is required to propagate a single split tongue type tear which starts from a small cut in plastics, papers, woven fabrics, cardboard and non-woven fabrics with the use of proper configuration. The instrument strictly conforms to ASTM standards. Tearing strength tester is a laboratory test machine which is used to calculate the average force in grams per sample which is essential to spread, tearing through a specified length of non-rigid plastics or sheets.

The instrument works on the principle of determining the internal tearing resistance; the force perpendicular to the surface of the sheet which is required to split multiple plies from a particular area after the split has been started.
