Tempered Glass

When a normal glass is treated under controlled thermal and chemical conditions, it transforms into a high strength toughened glass known as the Tempered glass. This type of glass is 4-5 times stronger than the normal annealed glass.

Tempered glass is commonly used these days to allow leveraging the capabilities of glass yet ensuring safety owing to its high strength characteristics.

Moreover when an annealed glass breaks, it shatters into harmful pieces while though it is nearly impossible to break the tempered glass easily but in case it does break, it fractures into harmless pieces.
