Highly lipophilic, it tends to accumulate in skin, nails, and fatty tissues. Terbinafine is active against dermatophytes.

terbinafine hydrochloride is a white crystalline powder. It is soluble in methanol, ethanol (~30 mgml), methylene chloride, dmso (~10 mgml), dmf (~10 mgml), and 1:2 solution of ethanol: pbs (ph 7.2) (0.3 mgml) insoluble in water with melting point of 214°c.
