Testosterone 100 usp injection provides testosterone propionate, a derivative of the principal endogenous androgen testosterone, for intramuscular administration. The esterification of the 17-beta-hydroxyl group increases the duration of the action of testosterone. The testosterone propionate has been prepared in an oily solution and as it is absorbed slowly from the liquid phase when injected intramuscularly. This allows testosterone 100 to be administered at intervals of 3-4 days.testosterone 100 contains testosterone propionate in a 10ml solution for injection only (100mg testosterone propionateml).
Testosterone 100 is a clear, yellowish oily solution for intramuscular injection.
Propionate is a testosterone ester used for the treatment of primary hypogonadism (congenital or acquired), testicular failure due to cryptorchidism, bilateral torsion, orchitis, vanishing testis syndrome, or orchidectomy in males.
