Sesame oil is also known as Til Oil is regrarded widely as the queen of oils. This is due to its multifold benefits in cooking, medicinal use and also in the traditional puja rituals in Hindu tradition.

Sesame oil is widely known for its medicinal use in controlling blood pressure due to the rich presence of antioxidants. Also in Ayurveda it is used to reduce stress related problems. It is also used in various massages. It is also one of the most used cooking oil in many parts of the world.

It is believed that Sesame was produced by the body part of Kashyap Rishi and hence all the grahas, devatas and pitrus become pleased when a person offers sesame to them.
