Improving blood sugar (glucose) control in adults with type 2 diabetes. It is a once-weekly injection that helps the body manage blood sugar levels more effectively.
Weight management in adults who have obesity (BMI of 30 or greater) or who are overweight (BMI between 27 and 30) and have at least one weight-related health problem (e.g., high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or type 2 diabetes). While Mounjaro is not explicitly FDA-approved for weight loss in the U.S. (its active ingredient is approved under the brand name Zepbound for this use), it is often prescribed off-label for this purpose, and clinical trials have shown significant weight loss results.
