Contact Supplieritanium dioxide rutile is a white pigment powder with a density of 4.23 g/cm3 that has a melting point of 1,843°C and a boiling point of 2,972°C. It's one of three major polymorphs of titanium dioxide (TiO2), along with anatase and brookite. Rutile is often preferred over anatase because it's more stable, durable, and scatters light more efficiently.
Rutile is used in many applications, including:
Paints and coatings: Rutile has replaced other white pigments in the paint and coatings industry.
Plastics: Rutile is used to color plastic items such as toys, electronics, cars, furniture, and packaging.
Pigments: Rutile is used in pigments.
Cosmetics: Rutile is used in cosmetics.
Photo catalysts: Rutile is used in photo catalysts.
Rutile is also the mineral name for natural crystals of titanium dioxide, but these crystals are always contaminated by other minerals in nature
