TORSION TEST APPARATUS

This test is basically used for plugs & socket outlets. For this purpose sample being drawn preferably at random from the regular production lot. The plug is fitted with the flexible cord or cable, the conductors are introduced into the terminals & the terminals are tightened by applying 23rd of the torque specified in the said IS table - 4 ,so that the conductor may not easily change the position . Immediately after the cord - grip test as specified in clause 22.1 & 22.2 the cord is subjected for a period of one minute to a torque of 1.5 Nm. During the test no damaged shall be caused to the flexible cord.
