Thermoplastic rubber is a low density, dimensionally stable, high strength compound mainly used in refrigerator gaskets, door handle grips and coaxial cables. It has the features of being a good solvent, heat resistance, reusability and recycling. These have many of the same properties as vulcanized rubbers, but can be molded and extruded using conventional thermoplastic process equipment.
