The material Aluminosilicate has been specially produced for the manufacture of level gauge glasses intended for high temperature applications.
Aluminosilicate flat gauge or sight glasses are suitable for applications exceeding the temperature limits of borosilicate glasses.
It is less resistant to chemical attack and should therefore be used with mica protection when exposed to saturated steam and alkaline solutions
